made to be fulfilled

Promises are made to be broken. According to those who keep on promising for nothing...

One of my customers with whom I happened to talk to on two different occasions had the same sentiment. She was asking for the supervisor who promised her a call back regarding her account. She said that she did her part of their bargain. Which means, that supervisor has to make his part as well.

Come to think of it. The customer has all the rights to feel bad about the situation, has she not? She was promised a call back, therefore waits for that call back.

Regardless of what the issue is, a promise is a promise. It's not something that you tell someone and then forget it afterwards. You can't go on thinking that every person is just like your partner who will tolerate any broken promises.

There are a lot of people out there who hold on to promises. There's no way that you can just give a promise that you cannot keep, simply because you wanted to get rid of the confrontation or the particular person.

Remember, promises are not made to be broken, but made to be fulfilled.
