what a waste of money

A late fee of AU$11? for AU$0.17 invoice? If you were in the customer's shoes, you will probably do the same thing that she did.

My first customer rang us today to ask why she received an invoice from the company with the fact that she's no longer with us. She said that she tried to pay it because she doesn't want to be charged a late fee of AU$11.00 for AU$0.17 worth of local call that she was billed for. However, the post office informed her that she cannot make a payment for a small amount as such. She then went to her bank to process it but to no avail.

Because customer doesn't want to have any problems related to this, she rang us to process the payment for her. But then again, it's still not doable. We were not able to process that payment. We told her that we will process a credit for this. She has to disregard the bill and do not have to worry about this.

I pondered about this as I received no call immediately after. Why does our system have to send an invoice for AU$0.17? Can you imagine the paper, the printing, and the stamp cost more than the payment being asked of?

It even cost the customer about AU$0.25 to call us to inquire about what happened.

If only there's a way to tell the system not to ask for such a small amount and not to print the invoice for that, I think I will do it. The company had to spend more for that incident. The company had to waste more money for a nonsense invoice that is not even payable.

The company could have done something more worthy of that wasted money...
